We think sailing is fun and exhilarating. Our training programs have been developed to provide a safe introduction to dinghy sailing with family, friends and members from the club. Starting with the essential skills in the introductory program 'Learn to Sail' you can progress to 'Keep Sailing' with more advanced skills and techniques are gradually introduced, you'll just love being out on the water. All program participants must;
CCSC has an Associate Member Trainee category you can join the club and participate in training.

'Learn to Sail'
5 x 3 hour sessions fortnightly. 9:00am start Commences Saturday 14 October 2017 Your sailing journey starts here as you learn the fundamentals of sailing and are introduced to the fun of dinghy sailing in a safe and supportive environment. Intended for beginners from 7-8 year old upwards. Commencing with some theory, safety instruction, rigging practice, boat launch and retrieval, with plenty on practice on the water. Boats and safety gear supplied, bring suitable clothing and footwear. Over five weeks the introductory training program covers; • Preparing and planning to go sailing • Rigging a boat • Working with ropes and knots • Sailing techniques and basic skills • Rescue and safety procedures • Launching and recovery of boats • Sailing theory • Wind and waves While it is not essential to start with our 'Learn to Sail' program, it may be harder to master the more advanced skills if you are not familiar with the basics. The program is currently fully subscribed, however you can register for the 'Learn to Sail' training wait list. We'll contact you as places become available. |
