A supported social introduction to sailing dinghies at a regional club. Cairn Curran Sailing Club invites all interested people - particularly women and girls - to the Sunday 'Sail Our Way' event.
Over two Sundays in February and March 2026 you will:
Be introduced to the club and facilities
Briefed on sailing basics and safety equipment and procedures
Learn about parts of a boat and how to rig it
Enjoy a lunch in the club lounge or shaded deck
Launch and retrieve a boat from shore
Sail a boat around a course
Debrief and share your exxperiences with others
Explore next steps in your sailing journey
The club will provide:
Experienced instructors
Safety equipment – PFDs and helmets
Safety boat supervision on water
Sailing dinghies
Lunch in clubhouse
Light refreshments after sailing
Membership and pathways information
You provide:
Sense of adventure, willingness to give it a go!
Suitable attire - close fitting clothing that is able to get wet, footwear

Sailing is a weather dependant activity, and as such we cannot guarantee that the conditions will be suitable on the day. The club will make a judgement asap regarding the suitability of the conditions and use various means to communicate this to everyone registered for the events.
Note: This is not an Australian Sailing accredited course and instead is conducted by the school/club/organisation, outside of the Australian Sailing framework.
