A very eventful day at Cairn Curran today. In the morning we had sail training by Bridie, which was well received and we had 3 pacers and a maricat on the water until a big squall came through, luckily everyone got to shore safely. But it was a shame we did not get more sailing time, as the breeze, up until then was very light. Despite the rain it was good to see the training continue with theory in the clubhouse.
The rain continued over lunch and the race was postponed for twenty minutes due to the heavy rain, but the fleet of 11 boats got away and managed to get a race in. Good to see two new Finns on the water; its getting to be a very competitive fleet.
Thanks to the duty crew of Mick, Ray and Chas.
The results..
Div 1 - winner Phonse and crew in the Gem, and well done to Steve in the mirror (DNF) but completed the huge course.
Div 2 -winner Al with Tim in the FF followed by Craig in his new Finn.

After the sailing several families stayed back and we had a pizza night and managed to buy up all the pizzas in Maldon! It was good fun and nice and warm by the fire. Thanks to Ray who gave a good welcome speech to the new members.
Note racing last week (on the 18th) we are still awaiting result times. But provisionally Tom won the cats and Ray the monos.
