You may not know this, but my relationship with this club goes back many years. Yesterday when I was out here with other members of the club, in the clean up one of the framed photos that had come off the wall in recent renovations was 're-discovered'. The black & white photo was of Bob Nuenhoffer on helm and Jack Ginnivan as crew on a Flying Dutchman ‘SuperRoo’ beating across Woolshed Bay.
On closer inspection I saw that in the background was a group of Fireballs preparing to leave the shore, my father’s first Fireball amongst them… the photo was taken in 1975 (I think by Brian Hocking) and is the earliest memory I have of visiting Cairn Curran Sailing Club, I was 11 years old.
In 2011 I returned to central Victoria to live, and re-joined the club. Since then I have been on the General committee, Sailing committee, Sail Training committee and the Discover Sailing Day organiser, and I try to sail as regularly as my crew (children) permit. Most of you know the rest of the story.
Great day forecast for the day 22° and 11 knots.
Terrific season planned.

I also would like to thank all the members who attended the working bee last Sunday to help prepare and clean up the club for the season. It looks great.
Again those members – many the same people – who came out yesterday
8am – 3pm for a massive day and huge effort to get the remaining section of the wall at rear men’s change room out – in – and re-clad. It’s nearly finished and expect it to be before the Regatta.
For the time being please restrict vehicle use on the front lawn, cars are to use the rear gate and access ways. There’s a roped off area in front of the clubhouse, keep traffic to a minimum until the grass takes hold.
Welcome to new members Max Fry in OK Dinghy, Russell Denholm in Impulse.
Great to see Charlie Bell-Wilcock returning in an Impulse, and Daniel Hall & Lachy Warren in a Flying Ant.
All sailing members please note that there has been a change to the CCSC Sailing Instructions.
Details will be updated on the website. Andrew Pollard to brief next week.
Barbeque dinner at club after racing.
All invited and welcome.
I wish you fair winds and great sailing for season 2017–18
